Covey Center Workshop Series

The Stephen R. Covey Leadership Center hosts a variety of world-class speakers to teach students transformational leadership principles.

This year, the Covey Center has selected individuals to share principles of leadership that they live by.

Miha Stan

Assistant Professor of Strategy at the University College of London

Miha Stan is Assistant Professor of Strategy at the UCL School of Management and her current research focuses on the links between formal structures, organizational learning, and adaptation. More broadly, she is interested in understanding how attributes of the organizational context shape learning outcomes, with an emphasis on the healthcare sector. Prior to joining UCL, Mihaela pursued a Ph.D. in Strategic and International Management from the London Business School and an MBA from Brigham Young University in United States.

Executive Director, The Stephen R. Covey Leadership Center

Bret Crane, Ph.D., MBA, is an Associate Professor of Leadership at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business and the Executive Director of the Stephen R. Covey Leadership Center at Utah State University. A leading expert in leadership mindsets, Bret has published over 8 articles in prestigious journals.

With a background from the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, and prior experience as a Visiting Professor at the George Washington School of Business, he specializes in enhancing leadership, teams, and organizational culture. Bret has consulted for prominent organizations, including American Express, Honda, Lowe's, General Mills, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Biogen, USAA, and others.

Alex Dunn

Managing Partner at the Larry H. Miller Group, Founder at Vivint

Alex Dunn serves as Managing Partner for the Larry H. Miller Company. As part of the executive management team, Alex provides leadership throughout LHMCO's portfolio of businesses and helps lead the organization's growth and investment strategy.

Dunn most recently formed and served as the CEO of Executive Network Partnering Corporation. Dunn has also held key roles as the president of Vivint SmartHome, co-founder of Vivint Solar, deputy chief of staff to Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, entrepreneur in residence at General Catalyst Partners, and co-founder and CEO for Lavastom. Dunn earned his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University. He and his wife, Debbie, reside in Provo, Utah, and have six chidlren and two grandchildren.

Stephen M.R. Covey, a New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author, led Covey Leadership Center to become the world's largest leadership development company. As CEO, he doubles revenues, increased profits by 12 times, and expanded operations to over 40 countries, growing shareholder value from $2.4 million to $160 million through a merger with Franklin Quest.

Stephen co-founded CoveyLink, a trust-focused consulting practice, later merging it with FranklinCovey to create the Global Speed of Trust Practice, where he now serves as the global practice leader. He played a pivotal role in propelling his father's book, :The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," to become one fo the two most influential business books of the 20th Century.

Cydni Tetro

Nationally Renowned Technology Leader and Trailblazer for Women in Tech

Cydni Tetro, a recognized innovator, growth leader, and STEM advocate, is the current CEO of Brandless, a technology-driven consumer platform. With a career focused on creating immersive customer experiences through technology and innovation for business growth, she previously served as the CEO of ForgeDX, working with major tech companies. Cydni founded 3DpulsMe, a 3D printing personalization platform, which was later acquired by Whiteclouds.

Her impactful career includes five years at Disney in Imagineering, leading technology commercialization. Cydni is also the founder and President of the Women Tech COuncil, a non-profit amplifying the economic impact of women in tech. She holds an MBA and a bachelor's in computer science from BYU and has received numerous awards, including Stevie Awards for Entrepreneur of the Year and Innovator of the Year.

First American to climb the "7 Summits," the highest mountain on each continent, and the "7 Volcanic Summits," the highest volcano on each continent

Mr. Roskelley is an avid mountain climber who enjoys doing difficult things. He set a personal goal to climb "7 Summits" or highest mountain on each of the seven continents. He climbed all seven and accomplished his goal. His next goal was to climb the "Volcanic 7 Summits" or the highest volcano on each of the seven continents. In January of 2020, he successfully reached the Antarctic high point and accomplished his goal, becoming the first American to accomplish this feat.
