Covey: Beacon Leadership Conference

We are looking forward to improvement and innovation! The second annual Beacon Conference will be held on October 25, 2024. Stay tuned for details!

In collaboration with UVU & BYU, the Beacon Leadership Conference is focused on building 'Principle-Centered Leaders'. We define principle-centered leadership as a specific type of leadership that focuses on the development of individual character and virtue. Operating under the notion that leadership is not a position, but rather a choice to live.

The Beacon Conference mission is to create a space for students from different universities to think critically, solve problems, incorporate foundational leadership principles, and practice leadership together.

An overview of our 2023 Conference:

On November 3, 2023, the Covey Leadership Center hosted the first annual Beacon Leadership Conference. Over 350 students from USU, BYU, and UVU gathered to learn the what, why, and how of ‘Principle-Centered Leadership’. This conference is focused on building these leaders. This idea of ‘Principle-Centered Leadership’ is defined as a specific type of leadership that focuses on the development of individual character and virtue. Operating under the notion that leadership is not a position, but rather a choice to live.
