Department Head and Professor

If you are thinking of studying accounting, the School of Accountancy at Utah State invites your careful consideration. We strive to be among the best providers of accounting education in the country. And, our results bear this out. For example, students earning our Master’s degree regularly score among the Top 10 schools in the nation on the uniformly administered CPA exam. This compares favorably with most any program in the country! At USU, not only will you receive a great accounting education, but it comes at very favorable cost in a near-perfect mountain-town setting!

Your education is intended to be well-rounded and robust. The School of Accountancy is host to several active student groups: Beta Alpha Psi, Institute of Management Accountants, and Financial Planning Association. These student groups, as well as the School of Accountancy tax teams, are regular award-winners at national competitions. Becoming involved will be an essential part of your experience while at USU. Your active involvement gives you a better understanding of the principles learned in the classroom, gets you involved socially with peers, becomes a powerful career development and networking device, and enhances your academic experience through service and leadership roles.

As you near graduation, you will discover that USU accounting students are highly sought after by the accounting profession. A number of career options are available, and this is the result of a carefully designed academic program intended to be challenging, and competitive. Yet, we strive to maintain an attitude of personal care and attention. Our goal is your success, and you will be able to work closely with your professors in our “size limited” undergraduate and graduate programs.
