The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation was established in 1980 by Charles G. Koch. The mission of the Foundation is to advance social progress and well-being through the development, application, and dissemination of the Science of Liberty.™
History has shown that societies with greater economic freedom have more prosperity and an enhanced quality of life. This observation that a free society is uniquely suited to creating, fostering, and sustaining peace and prosperity is fundamental to the Science of Liberty.
The Foundation primarily supports research and education programs that analyze the impact of free societies, in particular how they advance the well-being of mankind. Building on this knowledge, the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation fosters the partnership of scientists and practitioners in order to integrate theory and practice. By doing so, the Foundation strives to develop market-based tools that enable individuals, institutions, and societies to survive and prosper.
The Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization exempt from federal income tax as an Internal Revenue Code (509(a)) Section 501(c)(3) organization and is a private foundation within the meaning of Section 509(a) of the Code.
