Ha Chau is the Assistant Director of Assessment for The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence. The Shingo Prize is a non–profit organization, which has been part of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University for 25 years. The mission of The Shingo Prize is to create excellence in organizations through the application of universally accepted principles of operational excellence and to empower people and transform organizational culture.
In her current position, Ms. Chau oversees all assessment and recognition logistics.
She is the key contact for all organizations seeking to or have challenged for The Shingo Prize.
Additionally, she manages, coordinates, and trains a group of over 200 volunteers that consist of professional practitioners and academicians who have a sound understanding of lean improvement principles, systems, and tools and their application, as well as working knowledge of the Shingo model.
Ms. Chau received a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences, a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources, and an Associate’s degree in Office Systems Support.
Her degrees combine her interests in design/development, performance behaviors, and technologies.
Ms. Chau lives and breathes integrity, honesty, and hard work. Her philosophy is: whatever there is, there is scientific thinking.
In other words: “trial and error”.
