Ensure the Scholastic Quality of Incoming Students

The SOA restricts admission to the accounting major through two courses (Intermediate I and Cost Accounting). Currently, incoming undergraduate accounting students must have achieved a 3.0 overall GPA and have earned a B or better in the first introductory accounting course. In addition, students must pass a qualifying exam before being permitted to enroll in Acct 3110. Subsequent courses require Acct 3110 and/or Acct 3310 as pre-requisites. Students admitted to the Master of Accounting program must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better, and in addition, score at least at the 50th percentile across all sections of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).
