Enhance External Relationships

The SOA maintains regular interactions with accounting professionals via its semiannual Advisory Board Meetings, Alumni Events, Annual Banquet, Firm Night, Intermountain Accounting Seminar, and invited guest lecturers. Students have many opportunities to hear from and interact with these accounting professionals. Members of the Advisory Board and many other practicing accountants visit the classrooms as "Professor for a Day," speaking to various accounting classes and having lunch with selected students. The Intermountain Accounting Seminar brings top accounting leaders to campus. This is a major CPE event for region accounting professionals. Students are encouraged to attend these sessions. The SOA sponsors 3 outstanding student organizations who invite many professionals to campus to speak at their technical meetings. All of these activities are crucial to the SOA's strategy to connect students to their future profession.
