3. CLEP

  • Take a College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam to demonstrate proficiency. CLEP exams test mastery of college-level material acquired in a variety of ways. For the MBA program, a prospective student may CLEP Marketing minimum score of 62.

4. Petition for a waiver

  • Provide documentation to the MBA Office (huntsmanmba@usu.edu) that demonstrates proficiency and covers all of the topics included in the prerequisite courses. To help you know what is covered in each course, course descriptions for the prereqs are provided below. Also, attached please find sample syllabi for all these courses.
  1. ACCT 6010 - Introduction to financial and managerial accounting at the graduate level (see syllabus example).
  2. FIN 3400 - How corporations raise and manage capital. Study of modern financial principles, methods, policies, and institutions. Corporate organization, creation, and reorganization (see syllabus example).
  3. MGT 6510 - Introduction of marketing principles for students entering a master’s degree program in the Huntsman School of Business (see syllabus example.
  4. STAT 2300 - Descriptive and inferential statistics, probability, sampling, estimation, tests of hypotheses, linear regression and correlation, chi-square tests, analysis of variance, and multiple regression (see syllabus example)

5. Complete all of Mgt 6000 (on-campus course, covers material for a basic undergrad degree in business)

  • Complete ACCT 2010, FIN 3400, and MGT 3500 prior to registering for MGT 6000
  1. ACCT 2010 online at USU or equivalent (see #2)
  2. FIN 3400 online at USU or equivalent (see #2), Acumen option
  3. MGT 3500 online at USU or equivalent (see #2), Acumen option
  • Business Fundamentals on-campus that covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, business law, operations management, organizational behavior, and statistics.  Professional students only need the statistics portion of MGT 6000, but would need to attend the entire course in order to get a grade.
