HR team takes first in state for sixth year in a row

For the sixth year in a row a team from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business has taken first place in the Utah HR Games, a Jeopardy-style competition that tests the contestant’s abilities to answer questions about human resource management.

The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business HR Team recently took first and third place in statewide competition late last month. Both teams will now be going on to compete in regional competition from March 23-24 in Tempe, AZ, according to Al Warnick, one of the faculty members who coaches the team. Megen Ralphs is also a faculty advisor for the team.

"Our students work very hard so that when the pressure is on they can respond and I’m proud of the work they have been doing," Warnick said. "This proves a fun and challenging way to prepare them for success after graduation."

An HR Team from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business has taken first place in regional competition for the last five years in a row. Last year’s team finished second place nationally.

This year the national-level competition, which is sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is no longer being held.
