USU Jon M. Huntsman School of Business makes change at senior associate dean level
LOGAN – The Utah State University Jon M. Huntsman School of Business announced two key administrative changes it says will help the school stay focused on its strategic vision.
Chris Fawson, associate dean for international affairs, has been promoted to senior associate dean for academic and international affairs.
Clifford Skousen, who has been a senior associate dean, is now the senior associate dean for faculty development and administrative affairs.
Dean Douglas D. Anderson said the change will shift some key responsibilities from Skousen to Fawson, freeing Skousen up to focus on such things as faculty development, mentoring, the teaching academy, the research council and the school’s distance education programs.
Fawson, who has been leading the college’s international efforts, will add a number of key areas to his stewardship including managing the graduate and undergraduate degree programs offered by the college, Anderson said.
The current head of graduate programs, Glenn McEvoy, will continue in that role until the end of the academic year, when he will be taking a planned sabbatical, Anderson said.
"There’s tremendous momentum at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business and this move is going to help us focus our efforts in key areas that will make the most difference," Anderson said. "Skousen and Fawson have agreed to push ahead with significant work loads and added responsibilities because they believe in the things we are doing for and with the students here. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to tap their talents and experiences."
Fawson got his bachelor’s in economics from Weber State University and his master’s and doctorate in economics from Texas A & M. Skousen earned his bachelor’s in accounting at Brigham Young University, his MBA at Pepperdine University and his doctorate in business administration at Golden Gate University.
