Merrill-Cazier Library honors Robert Malko with top honor
If you are going to visit the Merrill-Cazier Library and you are hoping for special treatment, you may want to take Robert Malko with you.

He was recently selected as the 2006 Faculty Library Award recipient, a university-wide honor.
Dr. Malko has been a consistent supporter of the library and has donated funds to have a study room dedicated to his parents, John Nicholas and Helen Pise Malko. The first-floor study room features a framed picture of his parents.
President Stan Albrecht recently presented Professor Malko the 2006 Faculty Library Award thanking him for his contributions to the library.
"He told me as we were visiting he takes a regular opportunity to walk into the room and have a bit of a spiritual experience and visit with his parents," Albrecht said.
Then, knowing Malko to have a sense of humor, Albrecht added: "Sometimes the students who are in there are in there using it are startled by that . . ."
A letter sent to Malko by Linda L. Wolcott, who was at the time the vice provost for libraries, reads: "As a frequent user of our building and collections, and as a generous donor to our building campaign, it is most fitting that you receive this award. We are always grateful when our faculty members show such a special interest in our program. We would not have the beautiful facility we have today without advocates like you supporting our efforts."
Dr. Malko said he is pleased to be recognized for his contributions, in part, because the award indirectly honors his parent's memory.
Dr. Malko is a professor of corporate finance and is considered a leading national expert on finance and economic issues relating to energy utilities.
