Announcing the Tyler and Marce Olsen Scholarship In the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business
Tyler and Marce are both native Utahns and graduates of Utah State University. Tyler earned a B.S. in finance in 1998 and his M.S. in accounting in 1999 at Utah State University. Tyler holds CPA and CFP licenses and is currently employed by Wells Fargo Private Client Services as a vice president and a private client advisor in Boulder, Colorado. Marce earned a B.S. in social work in 1998 from Utah State University and has worked in social services since graduation.
Tyler and Marce chose to give this scholarship because they wanted to help financially strapped students with interests in a financial and capital markets career path reach their ultimate goals.
Tyler and Marce want to give students a head start with their scholarship. Ideally, the students receiving this scholarship will move into an early career with a large financial firm in a large marketplace. This costs money and it’s tough to get ahead with large student loans. If this scholarship can help mitigate this situation, it is fulfilling its purpose.
One piece of advice Tyler and Marce have to offer to a scholarship recipient is:
Think big! Just because we’re not on all of the top companies’ recruiting lists does not mean that you cannot break into that arena. Network often and be open to shooting for top internships.
Tyler and Marce have a young daughter and currently reside in Broomfield, Colorado.
