USU Alum Celeste Gleave Named NAWBO Business Owner of the Year

The Salt Lake City chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners has named Celeste Gleave
its Business Owner of the Year for 2012. Gleve is the president and CEO of Fyve Star Inc., a company that
manufacturers and distributes deicing products, aircraft cleaners and chemicals to the airline industry. The
NAWBO award is presented annually to a woman who has demonstrated strong leadership skills in growing
and managing a successful business that is more than three years old, while also demonstrating those skills in
volunteer and civic activities. Karin Palle, owner of Advanced Business Consulting, was named the recipient of
the chapter's Rising Star Award for 2012. Advanced Business Consulting provides business planning and marketing strategies for new and growing businesses. The Rising Star Award is presented annually to a woman
business owner who has demonstrated entrepreneurial creativity and determination in managing a business that
is less than three years old. Also, Julie Jakob, CEO of Jakob Marketing Partners, and Mary Scott, president of
Fishbowl, were named 2012 Women Business Owner of the Year honorees. Jakob Marketing is a fullservice
marketing agency that has been recognized for its success, rapid growth and extensive community contributions. Fishbowl is a provider of inventory management software and asset tracking services for small to
midsized businesses.
