Welcome to the Department of Management Information Systems part of Utah State University’s Jon M. Huntsman School of Business . Students in MIS must do more than memorize and regurgitate facts. The MIS has created a hands-on learning environment to allow students access to the latest hardware and software tools. We have an entrepreneurial culture and a can-do spirit that is unsurpassed elsewhere; a great faculty that is willing to take risks to continually make this a better place and a commitment to innovation, not only in our distinctive integrated curriculum, but also in everything we do.
This is not only a special place - it’s also an incredibly exciting time to be part of the department of MIS at Utah State University. We are beginning a quest to become the "edge of the spear" in terms of technology entrepreneurship for the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business . We’ve set an agenda for a future that will expand our leadership position and increase the opportunities and resources for our students. This website is one way for me to keep you informed about these new developments.
Information systems are key to the creation of wealth in this country. Through a newfound focus on entrepreneurship, our students will participate in this wealth creation. We are dedicated to continue to bridge business theory with successful and ethical business practices. However, we expect our graduates to create solutions that add value to society and the economy by reinterpreting the world rather than waiting for the world to define them.

In consultation with our Advisory Council of IT professionals, we have developed high- quality degree programs that are relevant to today’s global information economy, giving graduates the skills and knowledge needed to be highly competitive.
We offer a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare students for fulfilling careers. Within each program, a wide spectrum of choices are available to meet the needs of each student.
Our graduates have readily found employment in local, regional, and international firms, major corporations, and government agencies. Many of our alumni have distinguished themselves by becoming partners, managers, chief information officers, and other chief executive officers in these organizations.
