Tyler J. Bowles earned a B.S. degree in Economics with a minor in Accounting from Utah State University in 1984, a M.S. degree with a major in Economics from Utah State University in 1986, and a Ph.D. in economics specializing in Econometrics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991. He also is a licensed CPA and has earned the additional credential of CVA (i.e., Certified Valuation Analyst). He received an Elijah Watt Sells Award for scoring in the top 100 of the 66,900 candidates who set for the CPA exam when he did.
Dr. Bowles began his professional career in 1989 teaching at a junior college and working for a regional certified public accounting firm.
He has held a faculty position at a major university continuously since 1994.
He is an active researcher with approximately 40 articles published in referred journals.
Further, he has been recognized twice as the College Teacher of the Year, four times as the College Advisor of the Year, the USU Presidential Leadership Council Professor of the Year, and the USU Mortar Board Professor of the Year.
Due to Dr. Bowles unique background his services are often requested in legal cases involving complex issues regarding economic damages.
He has provided testimony in over 200 cases and has testified in courts in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and California.
