Biography

Dave Colling started his career in contract interiors in 1989 when he took the role of architectural representative for Armstrong World Industries. During his tenure with Armstrong he learned the commercial construction industry through his work with contractors and the architecture and design community.

In 1992, Mr. Colling joined Herman Miller, Inc. as a market manager for the states of Utah and Idaho. This experience provided him with a technical understanding of furniture products and their application within a project. Herman Miller also provided extensive training in issues inherent in work, healthcare and educational environments. In this role, he also acted as the liaison between the owner, specifier, dealer and manufacturer on major furniture projects.

In 1998, he joined Henriksen/Butler (H/B) as a partner and the VP of Sales & Marketing. During seven years in this role, he directed the sales and marketing activities of over 20 employees. He also led a diversification strategy at H/B that included opening two new business units; Spacesaver Intermountain, which sells and services high density and specialty storage, and H/B Services, which provides furniture installation and management services. He also led a geographic expansion with the opening of offices in Las Vegas, Nevada and St. George, Utah. In 2005, Mr. Colling became the president of Henriksen/Butler and affiliated companies.

His formal education includes a bachelor's degree in marketing from Colorado State University and an MBA from Utah State University. He has been married to his wife, Heather, for 20 years and he has two sons. His passion, outside of work, is physical fitness, spending time at his vacation home in St. George and watching a variety of sports with his family.
