Utah State Univ. Gets $26 Million From Huntsman

NEW YORK (Associated Press) — Utah billionaire Jon Huntsman Sr. pledged $26 million Monday to Utah State University, the school's largest gift.

Huntsman said $25 million will go to Utah State's College of Business, and $1 million will be dedicated to scholarships for Armenians.

LOGAN — Utah State University's business school will be renamed for Jon M. Huntsman Sr. after officials Monday announced the petrochemical magnate's $26 million donation to the school.

The gift is the largest private donation the Logan school has ever received, and will be used to fund programs and scholarships in USU's College of Business, to be formally known as Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.

LOGAN — Utah State University hopes to become more competitive after accepting its largest-ever donation of $26 million from Jon M. Huntsman Sr., also naming the school of business after the successful entrepreneur and philanthropist

The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business will focus on building ethical leadership and entrepreneurship among its faculty and student enrollment, enhancing their global vision and developing financial and quantitative analysis programs, a prominent focus for Huntsman, said Douglas Anderson, dean of USU's business school.
