Why choose a degree in international business?

As the economy becomes increasingly global, demand for graduates with the business, cultural, and geo-political awareness to work in and lead enterprises, both for profit and not for profit, with international interests will increase. This major will prepare students seeking such career experiences. Using a variety of teaching styles and experiences, the major will combine coursework in business fundamentals, business in an international domain, and the broader social science context of international business with advanced language study and an international experience. Students will graduate with an understanding of the academic, practical, and cultural skills and awareness necessary for success in the international arena.

What types of jobs are available to those with a degree in international business?

A diverse set of professional opportunities is available to individuals with training in international business. For example, opportunities exist in international banking, global purchasing, international logistics, international sales and marketing, economic and trade analysis, and import/export management. Moreover, a degree in international business will help prepare graduates for professional opportunities that may require them to serve away from their home country. Overseas assignments are a significant element in career development for many in the corporate, not for profit, and government sectors.
