Richard "Dick" King
Dick King is a vice president of Associated Foods in Salt Lake City, Utah. Associated Food Stores is an independent supplier of wholesale goods to over 450 food stores in the Intermountain West. He serves on the executive staff, the ARS Retail Board of Directors, and is a member of the Retailer Council. Prior to this assignment he served as president of Associated Retail Stores which is owned by Associated Foods.
Mr. King has an extensive background in the retail food and drug industry. He began his career with Albertsons where he held several positions. In his last assignment he served as president and COO of Albertsons with responsibility for a $16 billion operation with nearly 1,000 stores and over 100,000 employees.
Mr. King serves on the Board of Directors of the Western Association of Food Chains, Seminis (Monsanto) Produce Advisory Board and the Advisory Board of Encore Associates.
Mr. King is a 1972 business information and education graduate. He is also a graduate of the Executive Program at Stanford University, USC Management Program and the Rogalla Institute of Leadership.
Dick's spouse, Julie, also attended USU. They have two children and six grandchildren. They reside in Meridian, Idaho and South Jordan, Utah.
