How do I apply for the program?
You will need to submit the following items to the School of Graduate Studies, 0900 Old Main Hill, Logan, UT 84322-0900:
- Apply online at the School of Graduate Studies
- Application fee of $55 nonrefundable
- Official transcripts from colleges and universities you have attended
- *Three (3) letters of recommendation (two (2) from faculty members)
- **GMAT or GRE test scores
- TOEFL Scores: 213 Computer, 79 Internet (International Students)
The application and fees are needed to begin the application process. All items must be received by the School of Graduates Studies before the application is considered complete and reviewed.
**Applicants to the MBA program are required to take either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test. An admission test is required of ALL applicants with the minimum score at or above the 50th percentile, verbal and quantitative portions. Registration booklets for the GRE and the GMAT are available at the School of Graduate Studies or call USU Testing Services at 435.797.1004. Applicants should request that their scores be sent directly to Utah State University School of Graduate Studies.
Is the MBA program accredited?
Yes, the Masters of Business Administration degree at Utah State University is accredited by both the Northwest Accrediting Association and by the Academy for the Advancement for Collegiate Schools in Business – International (AACSB–International). AACSB accreditation is achieved by only the most prestigious business schools in the country.
How long are the programs?
- The full time MBA can generally be finished in one calendar year (three semesters).
- The part time MBA can be completed in six consecutive semesters.
- The MBA is a 33–credit program.
Is financial aid available?
Yes, for qualified on–campus full–time students we offer a limited number of scholarships and assistantships (out–of–state tuition waiver and $350 per month for working 10 hours a week). Please stop by our office to apply.

Do I need a business undergraduate degree?
No, but you will need the following prerequisite classes to enter into the program
- ECON 1500 – Introduction to Economic Institutions, History and Principles – Macroeconomics
- ECON 2010 – Introduction to Microeconomics
- ACCT 2010 – Survey of Accounting I
- ACCT 2020 – Survey of Accounting II
- MHR 2050 – Legal and Ethical Environment of Business (Business Law)
- MHR 3110 – Managing Organizations and People
- BA 3400 – Corporate Finance
- BA 3500 – Fundamentals of Marketing
- BA 3700 – Operations Management
- STAT 2300 – Business Statistics
- MATH 1100 – Calculus Techniques
These can be taken individually at a college or university of your choice; or, we offer the Accelerated Business Core (ABC) in Logan each summer prior to the start of the MBA program which is specifically designed for students from a non-business background.
The math prerequisites, STAT 2300, Business Statistics, and Math 1100, Calculus, are not offered during the ABC program and must be completed before starting the ABC program.
Do I need to have my undergraduate degree completed before I apply?
No, but you do need to have your undergraduate degree completed before you begin the program in the fall.
If I have a problem, whom should I contact in the graduate program?
If students have any questions about the status of their application, they can check progress by logging into Admissions Login with the USU identification number and PIN; or, contact the School of Graduate Studies at 435.797.1189.
