Accelerated Business Core (ABC)
Before applying to this program, students should talk to the MAcc advisor.
Non-Business undergraduate students who are interested in earning the Master of Accounting (MAcc) degree at Utah State University must complete the undergraduate business core requirements (or equivalents). USU offers students the option of participating in an intense summer Accelerated Business Core (ABC) program designed to help students quickly complete these core requirements. The ABC program is a ten-week, fourteen-credit course held each summer on the USU campus covering areas in accounting, computer training, finance, marketing, economics, and the business law requirements as set by the AACSB.
Note: This intense program will not cover courses in calculus or statistics, so students must make arrangements to complete these two requirements outside the ABC. The program is administered by the MBA office (435-797-2360). Please stay in touch with them for details about this course. Please note the following:
- Students must be authorized by their graduate advisor to register for ACCT 6010.
- The core has a maximum capacity of 40 students. It will be important to register early.
- ACCT 6010 generally starts the last week of May and runs through the first week of August (be sure to check with the MBA office or go to the ABC web page for the exact schedule).
- The ABC will require significant advance preparation for the first class session - it will be crucial to download the syllabus, buy the textbooks, and prepare the required advance assignments in the weeks before the ABC starts.
