The School of Accountancy at Utah State University continues a proud tradition as one of the premier accounting schools in the Intermountain West; as well, the accounting degree remains among the very top of all majors with respect to student placement and career versatility.
Accounting prepares a student to understand complex business processes and to be able to measure and report on the effectiveness and financial consequences of such processes. In a very real sense, accountants serve as enterprise navigators by providing the strategic information essential for guiding and directing the enterprise. Because of their business understanding and technical skills in accounting and financial management, accountants are prepared to succeed along diverse career paths. Whether students pursue traditional accounting and financial careers, or aspire to be a lawyer, an FBI agent, or an entrepreneur, the accounting degree is universally recognized and respected.
The School of Accountancy has built a longstanding and powerful learning culture that demands not only excellent technical accounting and financial preparation, but also engages students in hands on education to develop their professional character and social confidence, stimulate in them a commitment for lifelong learning, and establish a professional network through the School of Accountancy’s extensive range of professional and alumni partners. As we like to say, an accounting degree from Utah State University represents "360 degrees of opportunity."
I hope you will take the occasion to learn about our outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs, nationally recognized student organizations, tax case competition teams, renowned faculty, and the wide array of opportunities awaiting School of Accountancy graduates.
