NEDU is one of the major universities in Jilin province, China, and was founded in 1949. The university houses approximately 17,000 full time students and offers 38 undergraduate majors and 7 disciplines: engineering, science, management, liberal arts, law, economics and education. Utah State University joined operations with NEDU in 2001 when the Office of Academic Degree of the State Council approved an undergraduate degree program in International Economics and Trade.

Since being founded in 1999, the Institute of Advanced Learning (IAL) has formed alliances with various overseas universities and institutions in the United States, Australia and Canada, to offer their programs in Hong Kong. NWUN is the first minority institution of higher learning founded in China after the establishment of the People's Republic of China, directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of PRC. In August 1950, Northwest Nationalities College was founded. In April 2003, the college was approved by the Ministry of Education and State Ethnic Affairs Commission with the current name, Northwest University for Nationalities. The University is located in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, and covers a land area of 474 acres. It has two campuses: Northwest Xincun and Yuzhong. The university houses approximately 16,000 full time students and offers 61 undergraduate majors and 12 disciplines: engineering, science, management, liberal arts, law, economics, education, etc.. Utah State University joined operations with NWUN in 2012 when the Office of Academic Degree of the State Council approved an undergraduate degree program in International Economics and Trade.
