Student Profiles


 

The School of Accountancy Student Profile Book is prepared by the Beta Alpha Psi chapter at Utah State University. It includes brief profiles of some of the school's undergraduate and graduate students. Nearly 100 firms from the Rocky Mountain region receive a copy! In addition to having your profile published in the book, your resume will also be viewable online (password protected) by the recipient firms. The book and online resumes have been helpful and highly praised tools for firms that recruit USU's students. Some recruiters have even remarked that presence in the profile book is almost a prerequisite for interview consideration. Inclusion in the book is a great way to get on the top of recruiters’ lists!

The Profile Book is a reflection of the entire accounting program, not just Beta Alpha Psi and not just students still looking for work. We strongly encourage all students to submit a profile, even if you already have a job lined up after graduation*.

*Note, if you already have a job lined up after graduation we will wave the $5 fee.

Student Profile Template Guidelines & instructions

  • PLEASE keep all formatting as indicated in the template
    • Do NOT change the font, margins, or other sizings.
  • Do NOT add extra lines.
    • This may be difficult, but you must be succinct and notable to encourage the reader to go online and view your resume.
  • Firms have requested the profile book be standardized. You can distinguish yourself more in your resume.
    • The profile is just a “preview” to your resume
  • Your picture should be professional! If you need one taken, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
    • Please also try to keep the dimensions of your picture as close to 1.7 x 1. 13 as possible (crop, zoom, etc.).
  • Save your file as a .doc or .docx.
    • Name your file in the following format: Lastname.Firstname-Profile.
  • Send your profile (and resume, if desired) to bap.usu@gmail.com with "2013 Profile Book Submission" in the subject line .
  • If you are not a member, candidate, or affiliate of Beta Alpha Psi, pay $5 to Mary Ann Clark in the School of Accountancy office on the 5th floor of the business building.
