Biography

Craig Donaldson is the president of Harris Research, Inc., (HRI) a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Home Depot. HRI currently has two franchise brands: Chem-Dry and N-Hance. Chem-Dry is the largest provider of carpet and upholstery cleaning services with over 2,600 U.S. and 1,600 international franchises operating in nearly 50 different countries. N-Hance, a wood renewal service, is now a five-year-old brand with over 150 franchises in the U.S. A key part of the company’s mission is "to help people, who otherwise might not, become successful entrepreneurs."

Mr. Donaldson has led the company as its president for the past 11 years. During that time, the company has been owned by two private equity firms, the Summit Partners for five years and the Nautic Partners for three years. In January 2006, he led the sale of Chem-Dry from the Nautic Partners to The Home Depot. In March 2006, ACG Utah honored Mr. Donaldson with the “Deal Maker of the Year Award” for leading the successful sale of a private equity firm to a mega-corporation.

Before joining HRI, Mr. Donaldson had a successful career with Avery Dennison. He spent the better part of 13 years in Southern California and the Boston area as a business leader for them.

Mr. Donaldson received a bachelor's degree in economics in 1982 and an MBA in 1984, both from Brigham Young University. He is married to Alice Hronek Donaldson, and they are the parents of four children. He enjoys staying active. He has completed several marathons, triathalons and biking events including the Boston Marathon and Lotoja. Last year he completed the Ironman California (a 70.3 mile swim, bike, run) and plans to participate in other Ironman events this year. He has been active in Young Men’s, an organization in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Boy Scouts of America for the vast majority of the past 20 years.
