The Acumen is taught during the first two weeks of August. Since a full semester of curriculum is structured into only 2 weeks, these courses are extremely concentrated and are an intensive educational experience, demanding essentially all of a student's time and energy during those 2 weeks. Work, family events, vacations, and other outside conflicts and commitments cannot be "worked around." If a student is unable or unwilling to make that level of commitment, that student should not take these courses but should instead satisfy the business core requirements on a full semester basis at the undergraduate level.

The Acumen consists of two modules (2-3 credit course for a total of 6 credits), which are separate courses. Students can take one or both of the classes.

  • Corporate Finance (FIN 3400) - 3 credits
  • Marketing (MGT 3500) - 3 credits
