Events Spring 2013

Here are the AIS events planned for 2012 - 2013:

**Generally, AIS events will be every Tuesday night at 6:30 BUS 109**

We are currently working on planning our event schedule for Spring 2013.

Here are the things which are in the works and others with a date:

  • Jan 9 - Competition Kick-off. We have two major competitions we want to get students organized and started. Come at 6:00 in BUS 109 to find out about the competitions and how you can compete. 
  • Jan 22 - Semester Opening Social BUS 109 6:30
  • TECH WEEK (Feb 4-7)
  • Feb 12 - Career Workshop with Coren Burton from Workday BUS 109 6:30-7:30

    • Learn to build a web to boost  your career opportunities
  • April 18 (R) - Michelle Kolbe - Overview of Dimensional Modeling Principles using Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler
    •  Most Business Intelligence (BI) tools require a dimensional model but how do you go about designing that kind of model? What's a star schema, fact or dimension table? In this session we will start with the basics of dimensional modeling including a retail dimensional model example. Then we will take a look at building the model in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler. This free tool from Oracle has basically all of the same features as licensed data modeling tools. By the end of this session, you should be comfortable building a simple dimensional model in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler
